A few weeks ago I had a great day out in London planned with my step-mum, Tracey. We were heading up there to buy stock for my shop, Lucy’s Boutique, and we thought, why not make a girls’ day out of it!? (Especially as we had been invited to the Aspinal SS17 event, great excuse)

Before anything though I got my hair stylist and makeup artist over to get me ready – plus they are two of my good friends so any excuse for a catch up over coffee. I kept my make-up pretty simple as I usually do with dewy skin and natural but glam eyes and lips which so wearable. My makeup artist Kayleigh says, “Lucy loves a matte natural look with a subtle brown/ bronze eye, nude lips & killer brows! I prepped her skin with Garnier Miceller Cleansing Water & moisturised with Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Cream as her skin was looking a little dry & this is super nourishing.  I went for a pinky blusher as it compliments the pretty plaits/girly hair style that Clare went for. For Lucy’s eye I used Ardell Double Wispie Lash Strips to add volume to the lashes and kept the eye make up very soft with natural nude/brown colours. Lucy’s brows are always really important to her so I always pluck & comb the brow first too make sure there neat & tidy. On this look I used the Barry M Brow Kit in light to medium & Mac Vanilla Highlight underneath to finish. For the lips I used Mac Spice Lipliner & a mix of trendsetter & undressed matte lip paint by Barry M, plus a little Vaseline to give a hint of a sheen to her lips. I finished Lucy’s makeup look with the Ben Nye setting powder in shade buff.”

I did change up my hair style which I absolutely LOVED. Clare braided my hair into two French plaits and secured them in a bun at the nape of my neck. Clare says, “Braids & plaits have been a huge hair trend for 2016! To do Lucy’s look I started by thickening her hair with Balmain Ombré Double Hair clip ins, then hair was braided into 4 sections and pulled down into a low bun.  Texture was applied to the braids using Oribe texturing spray. I finished by pulling a few strands out around her face. The key to this look is don’t make it too neat.” – I got so many compliments on my hair that day so I am glad I went for the change.

I keep my outfit elegant but stylish with fitted jeans and a gorgeous high neck cream lace blouse, both from MIH Jeans @ Very Exclusive. I teamed them with simple silver courts from Dune and the grey Lottie bag from Aspinal of London.

After our appointments looking at exciting new stock for the store, Tracey and I headed off to the Aspinal Event at Claridges – one of my favourite hotels and venues! I love the luxe feel of the hotel and the gorgeous décor – marble floors and elegant gold touches just make any room look beautiful.

The Aspinal event was held in the ballroom and let me tell you, the set was absolutely mind-blowing!! The design was London-style townhouses in these gorgeous pastel colours (perfect for Spring!) – it was literally like walking on a hidden cobbled street in Nottinghill or something! I have since found out the set was designed by an amazing company called Maken Design and Build – they make insane sets all the time! I want one just for my house!!

The SS17 collection is really beautiful. I love Aspinal anyway, I use their bags all the time because they fit perfectly with my style. The bags are always elegant, beautifully made and classic. My favourite from this collection was this stunning pastel pink bag with pearl details – very Chanel-esque! The bag also comes in black… I think I may need both colours for my SS17 wardrobe!

At the event, I also had the absolutely pleasure of meeting the Head Designer, Mariya Dkyalo, who was so lovely and always looks so stylish and immaculate and my absolute style crush, Olivia Palmero was there!! I absolutely adore her and her wardrobe, have you ever seen a more beautifully dressed woman?!

David Gandy was also there which made Tracey a very happy bunny! Here is her picture with him…

After grabbing a little treat in the form of Peggy Porschen cakes at the event (shhhh, the Rocky Road was the best), we headed off to visit my team at Select Model Management. After having a catch up my agent, Tracey decided to hit the runway…It was absolutely hilarious but I have to say, she was a real natural, even if it was after a few glasses of bubbly!

After a busy day, we headed home. It was a great girl’s day out with my step-mum and we had so much fun together. Ohhh, also how gorgeous is this rose gold diary that we got in our Aspinal of London goody bags!? I have a complete obsession with copper and rose gold at the moment so this was a dream gift. Until the next day out….
