Where: Park Plaza Hotel Westminster
When: Wednesday 2nd November
This week, my good friend, Lydia Bright, invited my Stepmum Tracey and I along to the Breast Cancer Care Event, The Show – and WOW, what an inspiring event!!
Some of you may not know this, but Breast Cancer is a subject that is really close to my heart. My Stepmum, Tracey, who came with me to the event, is finally free of it, after two long years of fighting. During the battle with chemo and adapting to losing her long hair, Tracey decided she preferred hats to wigs! Style has always been really important to Tracey so she invested in a hat of every colour and style to go with any outfit as a fun accessory, instead of an itchy wig!
Tracey stayed positive throughout her treatment even when she felt incredibly low and now looks & feels better than ever! She is training regularly & looks fab with her new modern crop hair style which always gets compliments! Tracey was extremely excited for the event & it was the first time she was going to meet other ladies that have been through the same struggle as her.
Also joining us on our table was the nutter herself, Debbie Douglas! We all love Debs & she kept as all entertained! Also, TOWIE’s Amber & her mum Maria came along. Maria is currently fighting breast cancer so I thought it was extremely brave that she came. She is a very positive lady & is doing really well! I wish all the luck, love & support to her & her family.
Breast Cancer Care is a charity that help anyone affected by breast cancer, offering advice, support and information about everything from treatment to staying strong.
For them to be able to do this fundraising event is so important & ‘The Show’ was a fantastic fun way of raising money as well as praising & celebrating the fabulous men & women that have been brave enough not to give up!
The show itself was presented by the lovely Eamonn & Ruth. The catwalk show models were real men & women that have been affected by breast cancer. It was such an empowering night
I must admit I did leave thinking I’m never going to moan about little problems that happen in my life, as we are all guilty of doing. The evening put into perspective for me what is important in life & honestly, it’s health & happiness!!!
